Purpose of the Role
The ICT / Network Coach plays a key role in delivering and continually enhancing an exceptional learning experience for apprentices on the ICT Level 3 and Network Engineering Level 4 programmes. Leveraging your industry experience across ICT support, networking, troubleshooting, and operational environments, you will guide apprentices in developing the technical capability, confidence, and professional behaviours required for success in the workplace.
As a skilled technical coach, you will convert your real‐world expertise into impactful coaching sessions that help learners apply industry‐relevant tools, technologies, and problem‐solving techniques in practical scenarios. Through your insight and mentoring, apprentices will build competence that is both technically strong and commercially valuable.
Key Responsibilities
· Create an inclusive, motivating, and productive learning environment for all apprentices.
· Provide high‐quality, constructive feedback on learner assignments and activities within the Apprentify Virtual Learning Environment.
· Support apprentices in developing the confidence and professional behaviours required to operate effectively within ICT service desk, infrastructure, and network support environments.
· Monitor learner progress, identifying skill gaps and tailoring coaching to strengthen core ICT and networking competencies
· Manage the full apprentice journey, ensuring timely intervention, pastoral support, and effective classroom management where required.
· Maintain accurate tracking, reporting and quality assurance systems relating to teaching, assessment, compliance and learner progress.
· Demonstrate a strong commitment to Health & Safety, including Safeguarding and Prevent duties.
· Follow all Apprentify policies, processes and quality standards consistently.
· Promote a culture of excellence by role‐modelling high standards of technical practice, professionalism, and continuous improvement within ICT and network engineering contexts.
Essential Skills & Experience
· Minimum of 2 years’ experience delivering Information Communication Technician/Network Engineer apprenticeships.
· Proven experience mentoring or coaching individuals in a professional or technical environment.
· Ability to provide high‐quality developmental feedback that supports learner progress and achievement.
· Knowledge of ICT practices, standards, technologies and industry requirements.
· Understanding of Safeguarding, Prevent and Equality & Diversity responsibilities.
· Strong knowledge of digital and technology apprenticeship standards and work‐based learning methodologies.
· Familiarity with the current Ofsted Education Inspection Framework and its expectations.
· A proven track record of supporting apprentices to achieve higher‐level outcomes, such as merits and distinctions at EPA.
· Must hold (or be able to pass) an Enhanced DBS check.
Desirable
· Industry certifications related to ICT, networking or digital technologies.
· Knowledge of End‐Point Assessment processes and requirements for ICT apprenticeships.
· Understanding of quality assurance processes within apprenticeship delivery.
