Full Stack Engineer

Full-Stack Developers – Contract (6 Months) – Remote First

Remote first with occasional travel across Scotland

Start: July 2025 | End: December 2025

Rate: £400-450 per day | Outside IR35

We’re looking for an experienced full-stack engineer to join an established agile team working on a high-impact public service platform. This is a 6-month contract to temporarily boost delivery capacity for a system built on GDS standards. The role is remote-first but there is an expectation for the Consultant to visit client sites on occasions.

The ideal candidate will have seasoned experience building systems - ideally across cycles e.g. Alpha, Beta, Live etc. with strong demonstrable experience in DevOps.

‍ What You’ll Be Doing:

• Delivering end-to-end web applications as part of a hybrid scrum team.
• Translating business and user needs into secure, accessible, reusable features.
• Refactoring and enhancing existing codebases.
• Working closely with developers, designers, analysts, and product owners.
• Contributing to best practices in version control, testing, and DevOps.

What You Bring:

• Solid experience in agile development environments.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proven technical skills across:

Frontend:

• HTML, SCSS, JavaScript/TypeScript
• GDS Design system
• Nunjucks

Backend:

• Node.js, PostgreSQL, Prisma ORM or Sequelize
• Express or Hapi frameworks

Testing & DevOps:

• Jest, Cypress, Newman or Ava
• AWS, Docker, GitHub Actions, Terraform
