Senior Enterprise Architect (Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Backend & Linux)

Senior Enterprise Architect, Oracle E-business Suite (EBS)

Position Summary

The Senior Enterprise Architect, Oracle E-business Suite (EBS) Backend & Linux is a senior technical contractor responsible for architecture, engineering, troubleshooting, and optimization of Oracle EBS environments, with particular emphasis on the underlying Linux operating system and EBS technology stack.

The role builds upon the existing Sr. Enterprise Architect EBS model, which calls for deep infrastructure and Oracle EBS expertise, architectural leadership, infrastructure troubleshooting, and collaboration across operating systems, networking, storage, virtualization, and related technologies.

This position will provide deep technical expertise supporting Oracle EBS environments while helping design and develop repeatable architectures, automation, tooling, and technical solutions. The architect will work closely with Enterprise Architects, software engineers, product teams, and other technical subject matter experts.

A key objective of the role is to bridge the gap between Oracle EBS application architecture, the Oracle technology stack, and the Linux operating environment.

Automation & Engineering

  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive EBS installation, configuration, validation, and maintenance activities.
  • Develop scripts, utilities, and technical tooling supporting Oracle EBS environments.
  • Create reusable configuration and deployment patterns.
  • Work with development teams to translate architecture requirements into automation and software capabilities.
  • Support testing and validation of automated deployment and configuration processes.
  • Contribute technical requirements and architecture guidance to EBS-related product development initiatives.

Technical Leadership

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Oracle EBS Back End architecture and Linux.
  • Provide architecture guidance to engineering, support, product, and client-facing teams.
  • Collaborate with other architects to develop comprehensive infrastructure solutions.
  • Mentor engineers and architects on Oracle EBS and Linux architecture.
  • Evaluate technologies and recommend appropriate architectural approaches.
  • Establish reusable architecture standards, patterns, and technical best practices.
  • Your existing Sr. EBS Architect template similarly emphasizes architectural governance, standards, design patterns, technology evaluation and collaboration with other architects.

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer

  • Develop architecture diagrams, implementation guides, configuration standards, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Document EBS/Linux reference architectures and technical best practices.
  • Develop reusable technical runbooks.
  • Create technical white papers and solution guidance where appropriate.
  • Conduct knowledge-transfer sessions for internal technical teams.
  • Ensure solutions are sufficiently documented so they can be supported and enhanced by other engineers.
