PHP Developer, Laravel

A PHP Developer is sought to join a small, collaborative development team based in Brighton. As the business embarks on a journey to modernise its technology stack and enhance the user experience, this role offers the chance to make a real impact – helping to shape how the platform evolves and performs in the next stage of its journey.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a close-knit team where your ideas will be valued and your work will have visible impact. You’ll be involved across the full product lifecycle from shaping new features to refining existing functionality.

The team typically works three days per week from the Brighton office with hybrid flexibility for the remainder of the week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain core product features using PHP (Laravel)
  • Support and integrate third-party tools such as HubSpot and Stripe
  • Contribute to the ongoing transition towards a React / JavaScript front end
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and clients to understand requirements and deliver solutions
  • Enhance system stability, scalability and performance through continuous improvement

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Strong commercial experience with PHP and Laravel
  • Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks (React experience a bonus, not essential)
  • Experience working with APIs and third-party integrations
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
  • Comfortable maintaining legacy systems while supporting technology modernisation
  • A thoughtful, methodical and customer-focused approach to development

If you’re looking for a role that combines hands-on coding with collaboration, creativity and technical progression, this could be the ideal next step.
