Senior Network Engineer

I’m working exclusively with a specialist IT consultancy that partners with mid-sized and enterprise organisations across finance, professional services, and technology. They’re known for delivering secure, resilient, and scalable infrastructure solutions, and are now looking to strengthen their team with a Network Engineer who can play a key role in client delivery.

The Role

This is a hands-on position where you’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting network solutions across a variety of client environments. You’ll work closely with consultants, project managers, and client stakeholders to ensure networks are secure, reliable, and future-ready.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless solutions
• Support client projects including migrations, upgrades, and new deployments
• Troubleshoot complex network issues and provide escalation support
• Implement and maintain network security best practices (firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC)
• Collaborate with cloud and infrastructure teams on hybrid solutions
• Produce documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing within the consultancy

Skills & Experience

• Strong background in Cisco, Fortinet, or Palo Alto networking technologies
• Proven experience with routing, switching, and firewall management
• Solid understanding of network security principles and compliance standards
• Exposure to cloud networking (Azure/AWS) highly desirable
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work in client-facing environments
• Certifications such as CCNP, NSE, or PCNSE are advantageous but not essential
