This is a hands-on technical leadership role with a strong focus on data architecture, application performance, and platform scalability.
Youβll lead a small senior engineering team, combining technical delivery with people leadership (around 75% technical / 25% line management).
Your focus will be on enabling the platform to scale intelligently β supporting reporting, APIs, AI/LLM usage, and real-time customer insight.
π§ What Youβll Do
π³ Lead and support a newly forming team focused on data architecture and application optimisation
π³ Drive structural change within a large, established codebase to support scale
π³ Influence architecture, design, and technology decisions across the platform
π³ Partner closely with Product, Engineering Managers, and SRE leadership
π³ Translate strategic scaling goals into clear, deliverable roadmap initiatives
π³ Contribute to engineering-wide OKRs and technical direction
π³ Champion a culture of learning, collaboration, and thoughtful technical challenge
π³ Remain technically hands-on, solving complex backend and data-driven problems
π» Tech Stack
Strong backend experience is essential.
Core technologies include:
π³ C# / .NET (Framework & .NET Core)
π³ Azure SQL Server
π³ Azure Cloud Platform
Bonus experience (nice to have):
π³ Azure Cognitive Search
π³ Data pipelines (Fabric or similar)
