Senior Software Developer (Contract)
Rate: £450- 470pd inside IR35
Contract Length: Initial 3 months (starting ASAP)
Location: Remote (UK-based)
Essential Experience: Applicants must have experience of working for a government organisation in the UK
Clearance: Candidates must hold active SC clearance or be eligible to obtain it. To be eligible, you must have lived in the UK continuously for the past 5 years and have the right to work in the UK. Applications from candidates who do not meet these requirements cannot be considered.
The Opportunity
A leading organisation is looking for a Senior Software Developer to support the delivery of modern, scalable digital services. You’ll be joining a collaborative development team working in an agile environment on impactful public-facing systems.
This is a fully remote role, with occasional in-person meetups that may be arranged on an ad hoc (and likely optional) basis.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Developing and maintaining full-stack applications using modern technologies
- Building reusable components and modular backend services
- Writing clean, well-tested code using Test-Driven Development (TDD)
- Collaborating with designers, product managers, and other developers
- Contributing to best practices and continuous improvement within the team
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience as a Full Stack Developer
- Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js
- Experience creating reusable modules or shared system components
- Familiarity with frameworks such as Nunjucks or Express
- Previous experience working on government or public sector digital services
- Strong understanding of TDD and modern development practices
