Senior Software Developer – UK Government Programme

Location: Primarily Remote (Ad hoc travel to Sheffield, Leeds or London – max once per month) Contract Length: Initial 3 months (likely extension)

Day Rate: Up to £490 per day (Inside IR35)

Start Date: ASAP

Overview

We are supporting a major UK Government programme seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer (front-end focused) to join an established technical delivery team. This role will play a key part in building and maintaining high-quality, user-centred services within a highly governed public sector environment.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-impact government initiative with strong potential for contract extension.

Key Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Software Developer within UK Government or public sector environments
• Strong front-end development skills with a focus on JavaScript and TypeScript
• Hands-on experience with Node.js and Nunjucks
• Strong commitment to Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• Active SC clearance required
• Available to interview and start at short notice
• Comfortable working remotely with occasional onsite travel (max once per month)

• Developing and maintaining front-end services within a government delivery team

• Supporting the evolution of user-centred digital services

• Candidates must be based in the UK and able to travel occasionally to Sheffield, Leeds or London
