2x Technical Operations Specialist – Linux

Areti are excited to be partnering a leading software solutions provider in the search for two Technical Operations Specialists with Linux experience. If you’re an experienced Support Engineer, IT Technician, Systems Administrator, or IT Operations engineer, with a passion for Linux then this could be a fantastic opportunity for you!

You’ll be part of a 24/7 Technical Operations Team responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and supporting complex systems across live environments, while also assisting partners and internal users with deployments and issue resolution.

Experience Required:

• Minimum of one years’ IT operational or support role with hands-on Linux experience.
• Good understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, routing, firewalls).
• Customer-facing technical support experience with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn quickly.

Desirable Experience:

• Monitoring tools – Nagios, CheckMK.
• Web & database technologies – Apache, CouchDB.
• Advanced file systems – ZFS, DRBD, Btrfs, LVM, RAID, CEPH.
• Scripting – Bash (preferred), Python, PowerShell, Perl, Ruby.
• Windows Server knowledge and hybrid infrastructure experience.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Delivering frontline support via phone, email, and live chat in a fast-paced environment.
• Monitoring infrastructure and virtualized environments, resolving or escalating issues as needed.
• Managing Linux and Windows servers across live and test environments.
• Supporting software deployments and patch management for customer appliances.
• Handling internal IT tasks, including desktop support and user onboarding.
• Identifying trends in customer issues and contributing to process improvements.
• Staying informed on the latest product features and technology updates.
• Promoting a positive support experience and high customer satisfaction.

Bristol (Hybrid Working)

Shift-Based Role: 4 on / 4 off (24/7 Support Rotation)

£35,000–£45,000 + Shift Allowance + Excellent Benefits
