Interim Legal Counsel (6-Month Contract)

The Opportunity

We're working with a well-established organisation seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join its legal team on an initial six-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to support a busy commercial legal function, advising on a wide range of complex contractual and compliance matters across multiple business areas

This role would suit a commercially focused lawyer who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, managing legal risk and delivering pragmatic, solutions-driven advice in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts and terms and conditions.

Support stakeholders throughout the full commercial lifecycle, from bid and tender stage through to contract execution.

Provide commercially focused legal advice on contractual and business matters.

Identify legal and commercial risks, recommending practical mitigation strategies.

Support the wider compliance programme, including advising on compliance-related matters.

Deliver legal and compliance training to internal stakeholders where required.

Manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality legal support to the business.

Build strong relationships across the organisation, acting as a trusted legal adviser.

About You

To be successful, you'll bring:Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 3 years' PQE (or equivalent experience).

Strong experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts.

Previous in-house legal experience, ideally within sectors such as technology, telecommunications, financial services, public sector or other regulated industries.

A commercial mindset with the ability to provide practical, business-focused legal advice.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

The ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a wider team.
