Lead Software Engineer – Tech Consultancy - Remote First (1 day a week in Office) London

We’re looking for Lead Engineers to join a growing consultancy team. This is a hands-on role with leadership responsibilities – you’ll guide delivery, mentor engineers, and set technical direction while staying close to the code.

You’ll focus primarily on backend development, but with enough frontend experience (React, Vue, or Angular) to contribute across the stack when needed. You’ll work with modern cloud-native environments, designing solutions that are scalable, secure, and built to last.

What You’ll Bring

• Proven track record as a Lead Engineer or Senior Engineer in fast-paced environments
• Strong backend expertise in one or more of: .NET, Java, Go, Node.js
• Frontend experience with React, Vue, or Angular
• Solid experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Terraform, containerisation (Docker/K8s)
• A TDD and best practices mindset – you care about clean, maintainable code
• Excellent communication skills – able to explain complex solutions clearly
• Previous experience in a consultancy or contract environment is a strong plus
• A problem solver who thrives on finding smart, effective solutions

Compensation

• Salary up to £110,000
