Job Title: Business Analyst

Location: Hybrid / London Based

We are working with a well-established Insurance organisation undergoing significant digital and data transformation. They are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring that investment in applications and data delivers clear, measurable value.

About the Role

This is a key role sitting across both application development and data functions, involved end-to-end in the delivery lifecycle—from shaping early ideas through to post-implementation benefit tracking and business adoption.

You will be responsible for understanding business needs, defining clear requirements, and ensuring that solutions delivered by technology teams are aligned to strategic and operational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Project Initiation & Business Case Development

  • Support the shaping of new initiatives, working with stakeholders to define scope, objectives, and solution options
  • Develop business cases, including cost-benefit analysis and quantification of both financial and non-financial benefits
  • Define benefit realisation measures and support post-delivery tracking frameworks

Requirements & Application Delivery

  • Elicit, analyse, and document business requirements using user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and supporting artefacts
  • Manage requirements within Agile tools, ensuring stories are well-defined and ready for development
  • Act as the key liaison between business and technical teams, facilitating workshops, sprint ceremonies, and backlog refinement
  • Support UAT planning and execution, including test scenarios, defect analysis, and stakeholder feedback coordination

Data & Information Management

  • Capture and document data requirements, definitions, and controls as part of solution design
  • Identify and communicate data impacts across systems and downstream reporting teams
  • Support consistent data standards, governance, and data quality awareness across business areas
  • Work closely with analytics teams to define reporting requirements and maintain data definitions

Business Process Improvement

  • Map current (AS-IS) processes, identifying inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities
  • Define future (TO-BE) processes and support gap analysis across people, process, and technology
  • Validate solution designs with architects and process owners to ensure alignment and feasibility

Change & Business Readiness

  • Assess readiness for change prior to release and support structured adoption planning
  • Produce impact assessments, readiness checklists, and stakeholder communications
  • Create user-facing materials including guides, release notes, and quick reference documentation

Experience Required

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst in technology and/or data-focused environments
  • Relevant Business Analysis certification (e.g. BCS or PMI-PBA)
  • Strong experience across both application delivery and data/analytics initiatives
  • Skilled in requirements definition (user stories, BRDs/FRDs, BDD) and process modelling (BPMN)
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments
  • Proven ability to build business cases and perform cost-benefit analysis
  • Working knowledge of relational data concepts, SQL, and BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
  • Experience using tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess business and operational impact
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Insurance experience - Lloyd's/Company Market
