Business Continuity / Operational Resilience Officer
Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Continuity & Operational Resilience Officer to join a growing risk and resilience function within a regulated financial services environment. This role will support the continued development and enhancement of business continuity and operational resilience frameworks, helping to ensure the organisation can respond effectively to disruption and continue delivering important services to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business teams to develop, maintain and review Business Impact Assessments (BIAs) and Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), ensuring they remain practical, robust and fit for purpose
- Provide advice, guidance and training to stakeholders on business continuity and operational resilience best practices.
- Support process mapping activities and customer impact assessments to inform resilience planning and decision-making.
- Coordinate and lead a network of business continuity representatives across the organisation.
- Conduct due diligence and resilience assessments of third-party suppliers and outsourced service providers.
- Maintain and enhance business continuity and operational resilience policies, standards, procedures and supporting documentation.
- Support the ongoing development and maturity of the organisation's operational resilience and business continuity programmes.
- Assist with resilience testing, scenario exercises, reporting and governance activities.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking professionals with:
- Experience in Business Continuity, Operational Resilience, Technology Resilience or a related risk management discipline.
- Experience working within a regulated environment, ideally within financial services.
- Strong understanding of resilience, governance and risk management principles.
- Experience reviewing, challenging and assessing continuity plans, testing outcomes and remediation activities
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with strong attention to detail.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
- The ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical business solutions.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with risk management and governance systems.
