BI Developer

BI Developer required by a large, established UK organisation is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Developer to join its Data & Insight team on a six-month fixed-term contract. This role will be instrumental in supporting a major data platform upgrade and helping to modernise analytics and AI capabilities. You’ll take the lead on rebuilding and improving business-critical dashboards, enabling commercial teams to make confident, data-driven decisions.

Our client offers a hybrid working environment with 2-3 days a week onsite with flexibility.

You’ll report into a senior manager within the analytics team and work at pace to deliver high-quality, user-friendly dashboards. You’ll also have the opportunity to support smaller projects across the wider business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recreate and enhance business-critical dashboards in Tableau (or similar BI tools), ensuring accuracy and usability.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into clear, actionable dashboards.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data pipelines and models meet reporting needs.
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary project team to help deliver the wider transformation programme.
  • Support the management and optimisation of the organisation’s BI platform.
  • Provide ad-hoc support on other analytics initiatives within the team.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven BI expertise with a track record of designing high-quality, insightful dashboards (Tableau experience preferred).
  • Strong SQL skills for querying, validating and shaping data.
  • Experience working end-to-end on analytics projects: from requirements gathering through to design, build, testing and support.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to work effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Highly organised, able to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Comfortable working autonomously while contributing as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Desirable:

  • Awareness of UX principles and best practices in dashboard design.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake).
  • A degree in a numerate discipline.
