IT Director

IT Director required by our market leading organisation on a fully remote basis. Our client is seeking an experienced IT Director to lead and shape the organisation’s technology, systems and data agenda at executive level. This role is responsible for ensuring that IT capabilities actively enable strategic growth, operational excellence and informed decision-making across the business.

Operating as a key member of the senior leadership team, the IT Director will take full ownership of enterprise technology, cyber security, data governance, systems architecture and specialist teams, ensuring services are secure, scalable and future-ready.

This is a remote-first role, requiring travel across the UK to engage with senior stakeholders and operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and deliver a forward-looking IT, systems and data strategy that supports long-term organisational objectives.
  • Lead the design and operation of a centralised data and reporting capability, providing a trusted single view of performance across the business.
  • Act as executive owner for information security, cyber resilience and data protection, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and best practice.
  • Identify and implement emerging technologies, digital solutions and AI-driven opportunities to improve efficiency, insight and organisational capability.
  • Sponsor and lead transformation initiatives and cross-functional programmes that drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain full accountability for IT budgets, performance metrics, supplier relationships and service delivery.

Leadership & Governance

  • Serve as a full contributor at executive and board-level meetings, providing clear insight into performance, risks and investment priorities.
  • Produce high-quality reports and recommendations to support strategic and commercial decision-making.
  • Lead, develop and inspire a multidisciplinary team of technology and data specialists, building resilience, capability and succession.
  • Ensure strong governance across all systems, projects and data assets, embedding security and privacy by design.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Essential:

  • Significant senior leadership experience within IT, systems and data functions
  • Proven experience of operating at board or executive level
  • Strong understanding of GDPR, information governance and cyber security risk
  • Track record of delivering complex system implementations and transformation programmes
  • Experience managing IT operations across multi-site or distributed organisations
  • Strong commercial, procurement and supplier management capability

Package & Benefits

  • Salary: £90,000 – £110,000 per annum
