Senior PMO Manager
Senior PMO Manager required by a market leading, award winning, professional services organisation based in Central Bristol. This is a hybrid role with 2 days a week onsite. Our client is based a short 7–8-minute walk from Bristol Temple Meads Train Station.
The successful Senior PMO Manager will take on a pivotal role within Transformation and Operations. This position will see the successful candidate establish and lead a centre of excellence for portfolio governance and delivery assurance.
Acting as the lead for all change initiatives, the Senior PMO Manager will ensure projects are prioritised, structured and resourced effectively from inception through to completion. They will take responsibility for embedding governance frameworks, processes and documentation, with a strong emphasis on strategic alignment, benefits realisation, risk management and delivery assurance.
Key Responsibilities
- Build trust and credibility with stakeholders across the organisation.
- Embed strong governance and standards across all change activities.
- Collaborate with the Senior Portfolio Manager to manage resources and ensure ongoing strategic alignment of projects.
- Own and implement benefits, risk and issue management frameworks.
- Define and develop governance standards, providing coaching and support.
- Facilitate key change committees and forums.
- Provide guidance on business case creation, ensuring clear scope and measurable benefits.
- Lead on portfolio reporting processes and develop effective reporting templates.
- Strengthen and maintain project lifecycle documentation, aligning with organisational values and professional standards.
- Act as a role model for high-quality project management standards.
Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience in governance, reporting and delivery assurance.
- Proven track record in benefits, risk and issue management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Influential, confident in challenging the status quo and managing ambiguity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to simplify and convey complex information.
- Knowledge of organisational change and process improvement models.
- Creative and strategic thinker with strong commercial awareness.
