Senior Project Manager

Senior Project Manager | Advanced Technology Manufacturing | Oxfordshire | £55K-£75K

Are you a technically-grounded Senior Project Manager who thrives in an R&D / Demo environment and can bring structure to uncertainty? A cutting-edge technology company in the advanced manufacturing sector needs an experienced Senior Project Manager who can operate confidently when requirements aren't clearly defined and scope changes are the norm.

This Project Manager role:

This is your chance to work at the forefront of innovation with a company that's been pioneering breakthrough technology for over two decades. Their solutions are used by leading global equipment manufacturers, and you'll be managing projects that directly impact some of the world's most sophisticated manufacturing processes.

Based in Oxfordshire, you'll focus primarily on planning activities for early access demos and Application Development projects – working in a high-uncertainty environment with tight deadlines where the ability to think ahead proactively is absolutely critical.

This isn't your typical project management role where everything is neatly defined upfront. You'll need genuine technical credibility, a strong presence, and the confidence to navigate ambiguity whilst keeping complex projects on track.

What We're Looking For:

Essential:

  • Degree in Engineering, Physics, Material Science, Chemistry, Nanotechnology, or related technical discipline (this technical foundation is critical for credibility)
  • Proven track record managing complex technical projects in engineering, R&D, or manufacturing environments where scope changes and ambiguity are common
  • Senior-level project management certifications (PRINCE2 Practitioner, MSP, APM, PMI-PMP or similar)
  • Strong understanding of both hardware and software development lifecycles
  • Ability to confidently discuss and understand software engineering concepts – you'll be managing algorithm-heavy, complex software projects
  • Advanced planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management capabilities

What's On Offer:

  • Competitive salary: up to £75,000 (dependent on experience)
  • Annual performance bonus
  • Flexible working hours (hybrid working available after successful probation)
  • 25 days annual leave
  • Personal pension contributions and more.
  • Relocation package if required

The Team:

You'll join a team of experienced Senior Project Managers reporting to the PMO Director. This is a high-autonomy, high-accountability environment where you'll be expected to take ownership from day one. The culture values results, innovation, and the ability to navigate uncertainty whilst maintaining forward momentum.

Exciting role for someone who can think proactively, summarise effectively, and understands that innovation in advanced manufacturing requires agility and decisiveness. You must have the confidence to lead when the path isn't entirely clear.
