(AS400, RPG/400, iSeries)

Liverpool - Hybrid working, 1 day a week in the office - Liverpool.

Role Purpose:

Design and develop enhancements to product suite while solving technical problems using best practices and standards.

Core Requirements:

- Develop high-quality software following established processes

- Collaborate with Solution Architects and Business Analysts

- Design and estimate complex work packages

- Reduce technical debt through guidelines and patterns

- Review/approve Associate Engineers' designs

- Meet project timelines, costs, and quality standards

- Help resolve blocking issues

Technical Skills:

- Programming: RPG/400, RPGLE, AS400, SQL, Java, HTML5, JavaScript, DB2, Oracle

- Testing: Unit tests, integration tests, TDD

- Development practices: OOP, design patterns, refactoring

- DevOps: CI/CD, SCM tools

- Database: SQL queries, debugging

- Architecture: System design, patterns

- Strong written and verbal communication

- Problem-solving and troubleshooting

- Team collaboration and leadership

- Self-motivated with ability to motivate others

- Technical documentation

- Progress and issue reporting

Additional Requirements:

- Maintain technical knowledge through training/conferences
