EPR Analyst (Fixed Term - 12 months)
Job summary
The EPR Analyst is a hands-on technical and support role focused on maintaining and improving the Trust's electronic patient record system, ensuring it functions effectively, supports clinical workflows, and delivers safe, high-quality patient care.
The role is part of the technical team responsible for building, maintaining, and supporting the Trust's EPR system (Oracle Health Millennium).
It contributes to the ongoing development and optimisation of the EPR system, ensuring it supports clinical and operational needs.
The post holder collaborates with internal teams and external partners (including Royal Surrey Hospital and Oracle Health managed services).
The role requires flexibility, technical expertise, and the ability to support system improvements and upgrades across hospital sites.

Main duties of the job
Key duties focus on technical support, system build, and continuous improvement:
- Provide first-line clinical system build support for the EPR.
- Build and maintain standard catalogue changes aligned to service requirements.
- Support the development and enhancement of the EPR system in line with Trust needs.
- Assist in planning, testing, and implementing system upgrades.
- Provide technical advice and support to system users to improve system utilisation and benefits.
- Carry out system administration tasks to ensure smooth day-to-day operation.
Key result areas:
- Deliver EPR technical support within agreed service levels (SLAs).
- Support system build, maintenance, and testing.
- Ensure change control processes are followed.
- Contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery planning.

Job responsibilities
A. Core Responsibilities
- Maintain and build EPR catalogues and clinic configurations.
- Respond to and resolve user queries and incidents via the service desk.
- Perform system administration and data management tasks.
- Ensure data accuracy and quality validation within the system.
B. Operational & Technical Duties
- Troubleshoot system issues and work with relevant teams to resolve problems quickly.
- Maintain master files, tables, and configurations within Millennium EPR
- Support testing of new releases and updates.
- Document application support procedures and system processes.
C. Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships and provide specialist advice to stakeholders.
- Communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
- Act as a champion for digital transformation and safe patient care.
D. Autonomy & Work Management
- Work with some independence, prioritising tasks and managing workload.
- Handle unpredictable workloads and competing priorities.
- Follow organisational policies and team-based workload allocation.
E. Training & Development
- Maintain continuous professional development and technical skills.
- Participate in training, user support, and knowledge sharing.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Educated to degree level and/or or equivalent level of experience. Evidence of Continual professional development.
- IT Related qualification
Experience
- Supporting build and maintenance of Oracle Health Millennium solutions.
- Supporting build and maintenance of Oracle Health Millennium solutions.
- Supporting information systems.
- Good understanding of the patient journey and the key challenges Trust clinicians face with respect to use of an EPR system.
Knowledge
- Trust vision, values, and strategic objectives.
- High level understanding of NHS systems and environments.
- Proven knowledge of designing and managing highly secure and complex systems.
- A working understanding of ITIL Service Management and Methodology Processes
Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively to ensure high standards of care, treatment, service or support as appropriate to your role.
