Job summary
The postholder will help drive the Trust's digital change andsupport the ongoing implementation of the NHS Microsoft 365offering "N365" within the Trust. The postholder will assume the SME role on all things M365and will be responsible for helping our 4500 staff grouprecognise the great opportunities M365 offers them inenhancing their everyday workflows/ processes and then usetheir strong technical M365 knowledge to help develop workingsolutions for their department/services.
The postholder will help the Trust make best use of theMicrosoft 365 product suite by understanding the businessneeds and translating these into relevant technical solutions,thereby enabling the Trust to achieve its organisational goalsand objectives.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the administration, support, and ongoing development of the Trust's Microsoft 365 environment, ensuring services are maintained, optimised, and aligned with organisational requirements. They will provide specialist technical expertise across Microsoft 365 technologies, acting as the senior escalation point for complex issues and supporting the resolution of technical incidents.
Key responsibilities include managing collaboration and productivity platforms, developing and maintaining departmental solutions, and delivering improvements through automation, digital forms, workflow development, and low-code applications. The role will also involve the administration of user access, permissions, licensing, security roles, and governance processes within the Microsoft 365 platform.
The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver enhancements that improve efficiency and user experience. They will contribute to the rollout of new Microsoft 365 capabilities, maintain technical documentation, support platform adoption through training and guidance, and ensure that services continue to evolve in line with organisational needs and Microsoft best practice.

Job description
Job responsibilities
- You will provide 3rd line Application Support on Microsoft 365 technologies, including Microsoft SharePoint, OneDrive, Forms, Workflow Power BI and Power Platform.
- You will lead on the M365 deployment across the Trust, ensuring all appropriate devices are upgraded correctly with the assistance of the Desktop Support team.
- You will lead on the evaluation and procurement of suitable Microsoft 365 solutions, offering guidance and support on all related matters to senior management.
- You will be responsible for the daily management of all M365 licenses across all Trust tenants, including assigning where appropriate, auditing the license usage and liaising with 3rd parties in procuring additional licenses. This also includes ensuring that IT budgets match Microsoft 365 licensing needs.
- You will agree and negotiate priorities on solution design and development for the M365 platform, reporting on development progress and discussing complex issues with non-IT colleagues.
- You will be responsible for creating and maintaining SharePoint sites as requested by Trust departments and actively advise on recommendations which can improve or enhance the ongoing delivery of their service.
- You will be required to make technical judgements on complex Microsoft 365 problems and incidents and help with bringing the issues to a successful resolution.
- You will be required to document all procedures arising from new M365 developments, including technical documents for both senior IT staff and other colleagues.
- You will use Active Directory to create and manage user profiles and permissions, assisting the 1st and 2nd line teams where required. You will be required to test and adapt Microsoft 365 systems regularly, including the development of Microsoft 365 applications being used across the business.
- You will be responsible for creating and developing automations and forms using Power Automate and Microsoft Forms, as requested by Trust departments. This also includes creating Power Platform applications.
- You will be required to maintain flows in Power Automate and rectify any failures that may occur.
- You will be required to use the Power Platform Admin Centre to maintain users and assign security roles.
- You will be the Information Asset Administrator for the Trusts Microsoft 365 environment.
- You will actively work on the configuration and ongoing maintenance of MS InTune within the Trust, working in conjunction with the Desktop Support and Infrastructure teams.
- You will devise training plans and learning materials on M365 products for the Training team to follow, but also deliver ad hoc training to staff as and when required.
- You will be required to keep up to date with all changes (current and upcoming) within the shared NHS tenant, via NHS bulletins, online training sessions and events.
