About the Role

We’re looking for a commercially sharp, ambitious BDM to lead new logo acquisition for Aspen across our SMB market — owner-managed businesses, typically 50–100 seats, from the Midlands to the Highlands. These are companies where the decision-maker is usually the owner or MD, and they’re looking for an IT partner they can trust to support their growth, not just keep the lights on.

You don’t need to have come from an MSP. We’re looking for someone who sells consultatively, builds trust quickly, and genuinely cares about whether the solution they’re proposing is the right one. After winning a new customer, you’ll own the relationship through a defined incubation period before transitioning them to Account Management. Getting that handover right matters — these are long-term partnerships, not one-off deals.

What We’re Looking For in a Candidate

  • Someone with a proven track record in B2B new business — ideally in IT, technology, or a service-led environment.
  • Someone who sells consultatively, listens properly, and takes the time to understand what a business actually needs before proposing anything.
  • Someone who genuinely cares about getting it right — for the customer and for Aspen. We’re building long-term relationships, not chasing short-term wins.
  • Someone commercially smart — protecting margin, structuring deals well, and understanding the value of what they’re selling.
  • Someone with the discipline to manage a pipeline properly and forecast accurately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Convert BDR-generated meetings and self-sourced opportunities into new contracted customers across the SMB market.
  • Own the commercial relationship through a 6-month post-sale incubation period.
  • Work with technical pre-sales to ensure all proposed solutions are technically assured before contracting.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and forecasting within HubSpot at all times.
  • Represent the full Aspen portfolio — IT Support, Cyber Security, Connectivity, Communications, and Professional Services.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Proven new business track record in a B2B environment.
  • Strong commercial instincts and consultative selling skills.
  • Confident communicator at owner, MD, and director level.
  • Self-motivated and thrives in a target-driven environment.

Desirable

  • Experience in an MSP or technology environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft solutions and managed service models.
  • Experience with HubSpot or similar CRM.

  • You’re consistently acquiring new contracted customers and contributing to Aspen’s growth targets.
  • New customers are onboarded well, feel confident in their decision, and transition smoothly into Account Management.
  • Your pipeline is accurate, well-managed, and growing.
