Business Analyst (SAP FICO) – Permanent - £ – Hybrid in Central London

The Business Analyst (BA) – SAP FICO is an individual contributor role responsible for serving as the primary IT partner to Finance, Controlling, and Credit Management stakeholders across our client’s global estate. This role operates at the intersection of business and technology, translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements for delivery by onshore, offshore, and third-party technical teams.

Our client currently operates on SAP ECC and will be transitioning to SAP S/4HANA. This role will play a critical part in supporting the current ECC environment while actively contributing to the design, preparation, and execution of the S/4HANA transformation. The position works within a hosted SAP environment and partners closely with a Managed Service Provider (MSP) and other external vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Act as the primary IT point of contact for Finance, Controlling, and Credit Management business leaders.
  • Lead demand intake, clarification, prioritisation, and roadmap planning for Finance-related initiatives across both run and change activities.
  • Facilitate business workshops to align on scope, process standardization, and expected outcomes.
  • Elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements using appropriate artifacts (process flows, functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria).
  • Translate business needs into clear, testable requirements consumable by onshore, offshore, and MSP delivery teams.
  • Provide functional leadership across SAP Finance and Controlling domains, including:
  • FI: General Ledger, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, banking/cash, intercompany, period close
  • CO: Cost centers, internal orders, profit centers, product costing concepts, profitability analysis concepts
  • Credit Management: credit limits, exposure, risk categorization, credit checks and order integration
  • Support ongoing ECC operations while contributing to S/4HANA readiness activities, including process redesign, simplification, data considerations, and testing strategy.
  • Participate in multiple end-to-end SAP projects, including ECC enhancements and the upcoming S/4HANA transition.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field
  • Experience as a Business Analyst or BRM supporting SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA Finance and Controlling processes.
  • Participation in multiple end-to-end SAP projects, including at least one major transformation or implementation.
  • Experience working in hosted SAP environments and partnering with an MSP or external vendors.
  • Experience working in a global organisation with onshore and offshore delivery teams.
  • Strong ability to translate business requirements & business processes into technical deliverables and influence without authority.
