Head of IT Systems (Standalone – initially) – Insurance – c£125,000 + bonus + benefits – City of London (3 days/week)
Standalone (initially) Head of IT Systems sought by our client to play a crucial role during their scale phase, spearheading system implementation across their Retail, Wholesale Broking and MGA divisions. Managing multiple vendors, this is a fast-paced role touching every aspect of the organisation. The ideal candidate will offer significant, hands-on experience of agency management or policy administration platform migrations; ideally including Acturis, though experience with London Market platforms (e.g. DXC, CDL, Applied Epic, Guidewire, SSP) is equally valued.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Programme & Project Management
- Own and lead all phases of the Acturis implementation programme including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closure.
Business Analysis & Systems
- Conduct thorough analysis of existing business processes, workflows and data structures to inform platform configuration and migration strategy.
Change Management & Stakeholder Engagement
- Develop and execute a structured change management strategy that ensures colleague readiness and adoption across all impacted business areas.
Training & Enablement
- Design and deliver a comprehensive training programme to equip staff with the knowledge and confidence to operate effectively within the new platform.
Ongoing IT Systems Leadership
- Following the successful Acturis implementation, assume ongoing ownership of the UK business unit's IT systems landscape, vendor relationships and technology roadmap.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proven track record in a senior IT, technology leadership or programme management role within the insurance sector.
- Substantive, hands-on experience of agency management or policy administration platform migrations; ideally including Acturis, though experience with London Market platforms (e.g. DXC, CDL, Applied Epic, Guidewire, SSP) is equally valued.
- Proven experience managing the full platform migration lifecycle, including data mapping, legacy decommissioning, parallel running, cutover and post-migration stabilisation.
- Demonstrable understanding of financial platform reconciliation within an insurance broking context, including premium accounts, bordereaux, commission statements and insurer settlements.
- Strong project and programme management credentials; a formal qualification (PRINCE2, PMP, MSP or equivalent) is highly desirable.
