Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Contract) – FinTech (Python | TypeScript)

A rapidly scaling FinTech is expanding its engineering team and is looking for a number of Full-Stack Engineers to support their next phase of growth. Their products power thousands of businesses across the UK, with billions already delivered through their systems and demand continues to grow.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving real problems, working with a modern stack, and contributing immediately in a high-impact environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

Working closely with product and engineering leadership, you’ll operate across the full stack and contribute from day one. You’ll:

• Design and build reliable, high-performance systems that scale with the platform
• Work end-to-end across backend services (Python) and frontend applications (TypeScript/React)
• Operate in a DevOps-oriented environment where engineers own delivery through to production
• Contribute to architectural decisions and evaluate technical approaches pragmatically
• Raise engineering standards through code quality, testing, and clear technical thinking
• Make informed trade-offs that balance speed, quality, and maintainability
• Consider how technical decisions impact customers, product behaviour, and operations
• Use modern tooling — including AI-assisted development — to accelerate delivery

Backend: Python, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, MySQL

Frontend: TypeScript, React, styled-components

Testing: Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, pytest

Cloud & DevOps: AWS, GCP, ECS Fargate, Docker, Terraform, GitHub Actions
