Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced E-Commerce Manager to help drive our digital strategy, manage our e-commerce platform, and enhance our online customer experience. This role will involve overseeing the day-to-day management of our e-commerce site, executing digital marketing campaigns, and leveraging data-driven insights to boost online sales. The initial contract is for six months, with the potential to transition to a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of our e-commerce platform, ensuring a seamless, user-friendly experience.
  • Develop and execute e-commerce strategies to drive revenue growth and enhance customer engagement.
  • Oversee the e-commerce element of the website using WordPress, WooCommerce and Zoho, ensuring accurate and up-to-date product information and optimisation for SEO.
  • Analyse website performance and implement improvements based on data insights, including conversion rate optimisation, user behaviour analysis, and A/B testing.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to:
  • Execute targeted digital marketing campaigns, including email marketing, PPC, SEO, and social media
  • Optimise content and design
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of backup power solutions and power management to represent our products and communicate value to customers effectively.
  • Monitor and report on e-commerce performance metrics, such as sales, conversion rates, customer acquisition costs, and return on investment.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in data privacy, online security, and accessibility.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in Power Management: Demonstrable experience in backup power solutions, power management, or a related industry, with an understanding of the technical needs and challenges of our target customers.
  • E-Commerce Expertise: Proven track record in managing e-commerce platforms, preferably with experience in WordPress, WooCommerce and associated plugins.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with experience using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to optimise user journeys, track performance metrics, and inform strategy.
  • Digital Marketing Acumen: Familiarity with e-commerce marketing strategies, including SEO, SEM, PPC, social media marketing, and email marketing.
  • Project Management Skills: Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data entry, content management, and reporting.
  • Customer-Centric Approach: A proactive attitude toward improving the customer experience and driving customer satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in a technical field, particularly in energy or power solutions.
  • Certification in digital marketing or e-commerce (e.g., Google Analytics, SEO certifications).
  • Proven basic coding skills to customise the site and improve functionality.
  • Proven CRM experience eg HubSpot/Zoho.

1. Web Development and Optimization:

  • Frontend Optimization:
  • Expertise in CSS, JavaScript (JS), and image optimization to enhance page speed and overall performance.
  • Minimizing and restructuring frontend code for efficiency.
  • Plugin Management:
  • Updating and troubleshooting plugins to ensure compatibility and stability.
  • Replacing unnecessary plugins with custom code to reduce system complexity.
  • Development Environment Setup:
  • Establishing and managing a subdomain or separate environment for safe testing.

2. Backend Development:

  • PHP Expertise:
  • Backend PHP development to address server-side optimizations and resolve stability issues.
  • Database Management:
  • Reviewing SQL database processes and automating tasks where required.
  • Debugging and improving backend database integrations.

3. Zoho CRM Integration and Support (Optional):

  • API integration for Zoho CRM.
  • Workflow creation and process optimization within Zoho.
  • Consultancy and ongoing support for Zoho-related tools.

4. E-commerce and Product Management:

  • Managing WooCommerce-based systems.
  • Updating product catalogs, adding new items, and deprecating outdated products.

5. Testing and Troubleshooting:

  • Identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks.
  • Conducting error and warning reviews based on diagnostic tools.

6. Custom Development and Consultancy:

  • Custom code solutions tailored to replace redundant or inefficient plugins and extensions.
  • Strategy for ongoing maintenance and support to maintain a streamlined and stable system.
