Production Engineer - Hedge Fund
Attribution Search is partnering with a leading Multi-Strat Global Hedge Fund to hire a Production Engineer within its London office.
The fund manages over $15bn with a long track record for stable, year-on-year performance. This is an opportunity to join a growing team, while working alongside senior partners who have been there since its launch.
The Role:
You'll join the fund's global technology team, where you will focus on the resilience, automation and observability of production systems that power a mission-critical quantitative trading platform. The role forms part of a follow-the-sun global support model.
Primary Duties:
- Build and maintain automated tools to support system deployments, monitoring, alerting, and operational workflows.
- Monitor health of trading systems with a goal of proactive failure prevention.
- Take ownership of, and improve incident response, root cause analysis, and blameless post-mortems.
- Partner with developers to build scalable, testable, and efficient deployment pipelines.
- Collaborate with trading, operations, and quant teams, as well as external vendors, to troubleshoot and optimise production environments
Experience Required:
- 3+ years experience in a production-facing engineering or reliability role within financial services or another high-availability technology environment.
- Strong track record in automation, monitoring, and incident response for distributed or mission-critical systems.
- Proficiency in scripting and systems programming.
- Hands-on experience with configuration management, containerisation, and orchestration tools.
Tech Stack + Tools:
- Programming & Scripting: Strong proficiency in Python (core requirement), with additional experience using T-SQL and Bash.
- Infrastructure & Systems: Exposure to Linux and Windows environments, with working knowledge of Docker containers and AWS cloud services.
- Monitoring & Observability: Familiarity with DataDog, Grafana, and other internal or custom monitoring solutions.
- Automation & CI/CD: Experience using Git, TeamCity, and configuration management tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
- Databases: Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Snowflake.
