AI Business Analyst
Role Summary
Aubay are seeking a Business Analyst to join our supermajor client's AI delivery team for Commercial Operations, acting as a shared capability across portfolios. The role focuses on shaping AI use cases from problem statement to production, enabling consistent intake, prioritisation, and value assessment, bridging business demand with AI delivery, governance, and IT processes, and preventing AI initiatives from stalling at PoC stage.
Required skills and experience
- 7+ years of Business Analysis expertise, including requirements capture, functional/non-functional analysis, solution assessment, risk/impact evaluation and strong hands-on delivery exposure
- Experience working in Agile, iterative delivery environments
- Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, Excel, SQL, and Power BI / Tableau
- Familiarity with AI‐adjacent tooling and concepts (e.g., document automation, agents, NLP, LLMs)
- Experience supporting data or AI solutions moving into production
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Business Administration, Data, or related field
- Ability to take initiative, adapt analysis approaches based on timelines and risk, and own deliverables end-to-end
Desired skills and experience
- CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or PMI-PBA certification
- Agile certifications/trainings
- AI/automation use case storytelling and value articulation
- Change management and adoption planning
- Business process modelling and service design
- Experience working in federated or centralised capability models
- Exposure to Commercial Operations or Trading & Supply environments
Role Responsibilities
AI Use Case & Value Analysis
- Partner with Commercial Operations teams to identify, frame, and prioritise AI use cases
- Translate business problems into clear AI‐ready use cases, including objectives, success criteria, expected business value, and data inputs
- Support value tracking and benefits realisation from initial hypothesis to post‐deployment review
- Ensure reuse of patterns, components, and learnings across portfolios
Business Analysis & Delivery
- Elicit and document lean, outcome‐driven requirements suitable for AI and data products
- Map current‐state processes and identify automation and augmentation opportunities
- Define acceptance criteria focused on business outcomes
- Support PoC‐to‐production transition by clarifying scope, risks, dependencies, and readiness
- Act as end‐to‐end Business Analyst owner for multiple AI initiatives in parallel
Stakeholder & Governance Engagement
- Lead discovery workshops and structured problem‐framing sessions
- Act as a bridge between business, AI engineers, IT architecture, security, and governance
- Support consistent engagement with demand management, risk, and compliance processes
- Provide clear, concise updates to leadership on progress, value, and risks
Tools & Ways of Working
- Work within Agile, iterative delivery environments with experimentation cycles
- Use JIRA and Confluence for structured delivery and documentation
- Use Excel and SQL for analysis and validation
- Use Power BI / Tableau for value and performance tracking
- Support data or AI solutions moving into production
