Quantitative Developer
We are partnering with a systematic hedge fund to find a high-level Quantitative Developer (Commodities) to join their Investment Management & Research team in London. Sitting directly within the Fundamental Commodities strategy, you will work in a highly collaborative environment to design, build, and optimize the robust trading systems and cutting-edge research tools that power the firm’s trading.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain reliable, high-performance trading systems and strategies.
- Design and streamline trading infrastructure to ensure a seamless transition from research to live trading.
- Partner closely with the Portfolio Manager to develop advanced frameworks for data validation and monitoring.
What they're looking for:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related discipline.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, with advanced Python expertise.
- Proven track record of building, deploying, and maintaining production grade data pipelines.
- Hands on familiarity with modern infrastructure tools (e.g., CI/CD, Kafka, Airflow).
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
What would be useful:
- Prior experience building commodities trading systems within a financial environment.
- Direct experience collaborating with quantitative researchers and portfolio managers.
- A foundational understanding of statistical modelling in finance.
- Experience with parallel and concurrent processing.
