Control & Automation Engineer
A leading force in the design and integration of advanced defence systems, combining innovation, precision engineering and a strong focus on operational excellence. As part of an engineering team, you will be responsible for the delivery of engineering projects on time and within budget. Your role will be to ensure technical performance standards are maintained, to deliver control system designs that meet customer and regulatory specifications and to assist with design improvements.
Control Systems Engineer

Develop innovative control system solutions in close collaboration with mechanical and hydraulic engineers and designers.

Check, review and approve technical drawings and design documentation.

Prepare detailed technical documents including specifications, reports, manuals and procedures.

Undertake the development, integration and testing of hydraulic hardware and related control systems.

Compile and maintain comprehensive technical documents and test specifications.

Interpret and apply complex technical specifications to ensure system compliance and performance.

Liaise effectively with suppliers and act as a company representative during customer review meetings.

Provide engineering support to production, testing and field service teams to resolve technical issues.

Assist the sales team by providing technical input for bids, proposals and quotations.
Control Systems Engineer: The Person
-
Proven experience in the design, testing and development of control systems, ideally within medium to heavy engineering environments.

Strong background in developing PLC control systems for hydraulically operated machinery or vehicles.

Experienced in taking projects from initial concept and specification through to production, ideally in a lead or senior engineering role.

Hands-on 3D CAD design experience with excellent IT and analytical skills (MS Office and analysis tools).
The ideal Electrical Control Engineer will demonstrate initiative, creativity and have the ability to think-outside the box. A strong team player with excellent communication skills with experience of managing people or project teams.
Knowledge of Siemens TIA, Codesys and a 3D Electrical Design package highly advantageous.
