As a customer-facing engineer, you’ll help deliver projects, perform maintenance, and support breakdowns across a UK installed base—primarily within the North West, but with some UK and occasional EU travel. You’ll work across industries including Paper, Power, Process, Minerals, and Marine.
Instrumentation & QCS Service Engineer - The Role:
- You will be involved in the delivery of projects, maintenance and breakdown services to UK installed base customers within the Paper Making, Power Generation, Process industries, Minerals and the Marine sectors
- Whilst primarily employed to look after the company's growing installed base in your North West England region, there will be necessity to travel within the UK, and occasionally within the EU, with resulting time away from home
- Occasionally, you will be required to support customers’ shut periods which will involve short periods away from home and significant paid overtime
- You will provide routine and on demand customer service including software development and documentation, maintenance / inspection of automation systems, which will include providing periodic out of hours ‘On-Call’ emergency support
Systems & Applications Engineer (QCS/Analyser) - The Person:
- Strong communicator with a customer-focused attitude
- Experienced with QCS systems and industrial automation (DCS, PLC, SCADA, HMI, SIS)
- Skilled in commissioning or maintaining instrumentation and control systems
- Able to work independently and as part of a support team
- Willing to travel as needed, including occasional overnights
Essential:
- Recognised electrical/instrumentation qualificationsExperience in field service work, including diagnosis and repair of E&I systems
- Confident producing accurate technical documentation
- Full valid UK driving licence
