This is an opportunity to join a growing service team, offering a varied workload split between customer site visits and workshop support.

The Role:

  • Assist with spare parts activities and other workshop engineering duties when not attending customer sites.
  • Provide technical support to existing customers and respond to requests for service and repair assistance.
  • Complete service reports and maintain accurate records of work carried out.
  • Follow company procedures and site-specific health and safety requirements.
  • Travel to customer sites across the UK, with occasional overnight stays where necessary.

The role offers a flexible mix of field service and workshop duties. Some weeks may involve several days at customer sites, while others will focus more on workshop activities. Most customer visits are completed within a day, with overnight accommodation available when required.

The Person:

  • Experience in industrial robotics, automation, maintenance or field service engineering.
  • Practical experience fault-finding and repairing industrial robotic systems.
  • Knowledge of ABB and FANUC robots and their associated controllers.
  • KUKA experience would be a significant advantage.
  • Confident diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults and identifying faulty components.
  • Able to distinguish between robot-related faults and issues with PLCs or associated automation equipment.
  • A good understanding of industrial control systems and manufacturing environments.
  • A practical, hands-on approach to repairs, component replacement and fault diagnosis.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently at customer sites.
  • Professional communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel throughout the UK.
  • Must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the office, as the role includes regular workshop-based duties as well as field service.

Experience with PLC systems such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley or Mitsubishi, industrial safety systems, robot programming or commissioning would be advantageous. An HNC/HND or apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics or Automation Engineering is also desirable.
