This consultancy is a global provider of data centre services, specialising in the development and operation of high performance, scalable, and secure data centre facilities. They serve a diverse range of clients, including cloud service providers, telecommunications companies, and enterprise customers.

We are currently seeking to onboarding a Design Integration Manager/Engineer that can support the project journey across the following milestones:

Preconstruction

  • Support contractor pre-qualification, bidding, bid reviews, and recommendations.
  • Assist with contract negotiations (fees, mark-ups, insurance, labour rates, escalation, etc.) with engineering, PMs, and legal teams.
  • Coordinate engineering programs, including:
  • Technical due diligence of third-party/colocation data centres.
  • Data centre audit program (scheduling, info gathering, and delivering audit reports).
  • Lead constructability reviews and ensure design documents align with project requirements.
  • Help scope, procure, and schedule all direct vendors and consultants.

Construction

  • Manage design related cost and change control, review and negotiate change orders and assess delays.
  • Support value engineering to optimize cost and design intent.
  • Monitor and analyze the project schedule with attention to design dependencies.
  • Oversee document control (addenda, bulletins, drawing updates, clarifications).
  • Ensure QA/QC processes are followed and report gaps or risks.
  • Process and track invoices and payment applications tied to design-related vendors.
  • Maintain logs for submittals, RFIs, change orders, invoices, payments, and lien releases.
  • Coordinate and manage design-impacting vendors and consultants.
  • Verify HSE compliance where design interactions are relevant.

Close Out / Fit-Up

  • Coordinate with engineering and stakeholder teams to execute the close out strategy.
  • Support close-out engineering tasks starting 2–3 months before completion.
  • Define and track close-out documentation (as-builts, warranties, O&Ms, etc.).
  • Assist with final authority inspections and occupancy processes.
  • Manage punch list, substantial completion, and final completion activities tied to design scope.
  • Help resolve outstanding change orders, design issues, and disputes.
  • Coordinate remaining vendor and consultant activities through project finish.

Key Priority for This Role

  • Lead the technical due diligence review when the client selects a data hall from a colocation provider.
  • Ensure the facility meets technical and operational requirements by working with internal engineering teams and colocation partners.
  • Provide technical support throughout fit out.
  • Support ongoing audits once the data hall is operational.
