F5 Automation Engineer

Rate: £500-£550 Inside IR35 (8 hours, 9am-5pm, 5 days per week)

Duration: End of Nov initially, will extend.

Location: Sheffield 2/3 days, remaining remote (per week)

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement migrations of infrastructure and services from legacy to new platforms.
• Liaise with service owners to arrange suitable timing for migration activities.
• Adhere to strict change control guardrails and governance standards.
• Build automation solutions for the new platform.
• Understand and modify existing code to work with new technologies.
• Create deployment pipelines using client approved technologies.
• Adhere to configuration and API standards.
• Share knowledge and collaborate effectively with a distributed team.

What You Need to Succeed

• Strong technical knowledge of Python, API development, and code testing/review.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools and platforms, including Bash, Jenkins/CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, Ansible, and HashiCorp Vault.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, including BGP, routing, TCP/IP, certificates/PKI, VMware, and KVM.
• Focused experience with F5 load balancers and automation of operational processes for the F5 estate.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience working in banking or enterprise IT environments.
• Familiarity with IT change control processes.
