VCF9 Senior Consultant

Rate: Inside IR35

Duration: Initially running to 30/04/2027, view to extend

Location: Remote

Summary: Senior consultant to support VCF 9.x design and deployment efforts for an enterprise customer. Brings current VCF 9.x platform knowledge and applies it across architecture, build, and operationalization activities. Contributes design guidance and technical leadership, and partners effectively with customer infrastructure, security, and operations teams.

Required

• VCF 9.x platform expertise — current, hands-on knowledge of the 9.x architecture and operational model. Comfortable across the full stack.
• vSphere and ESXi at an advanced level
• vSAN ESA design and operations
• VMSP VCF Management Services Platform architecture and operation
• NSX overlay and VLAN-backed designs, routing integration, edge services
• VCF Principal storage options — FC, iSCSI, NVMe/TCP
• Identity and access — VIDB, SAML / OIDC integration with enterprise IdPs
• Lifecycle and certificate management under the VCF 9.x model
• Senior delivery presence — able to lead technical discussions with customer architects and operators, produce defensible design rationale, and operate independently on complex problems.

Certifications

Desired: Current VCP and/or VCAP

Highly beneficial: VCF 9.x VCP / VCAP

Strong preference:

• VMware HCX
• VCF Operations and VCF Automation
• Data protection integration with VCF
• vSphere Supervisor / VKS

Highly Desired:

• PowerShell / PowerCLI / Terraform automation
• Routing fundamentals (BGP, OSPF)
• Regulated-industry delivery experience (Financial Services)

Disqualifiers

• VCF 4.x / 5.x only, no 9.x experience
• Pure pre-sales / marketing-architect profile with no delivery history
