Lead Software Product Engineer

Salary: £100,000 - 130,000 per year

• Experience building software products from concept through to production
• Modern backend development experience with technologies such as C#, .NET, Java, Kotlin or Python
• Experience with cloud platforms including Azure, AWS or GCP
• Experience designing APIs, distributed systems or event‐driven architectures
• Experience with IoT, telemetry, connected devices or real‐time data is desirable but not essential
• Ability to take ownership of technical decisions while remaining hands‐on

• Design and build a greenfield cloud platform from the ground up
• Develop APIs, backend services and event‐driven applications
• Collaborate with hardware and engineering teams to integrate connected devices
• Build scalable solutions for telemetry, analytics and customer‐facing applications
• Help define technical architecture, engineering standards and best practices
• Leverage AI‐assisted development tools where appropriate
• Play a key role in growing and shaping the software engineering function

We are an established engineering and technology business investing in a brand‐new software platform to power the next generation of our connected products. This is a rare greenfield opportunity to be our first senior software engineering hire, working closely with senior leadership to define the architecture, build the MVP and shape the long‐term direction of the platform and future engineering team. We are building a modern cloud platform that connects smart devices, processes real‐time data and delivers valuable insights through scalable software products. The role is based in East London with hybrid working of one day per week in the South East, and offers up to £130,000 plus private healthcare and pension. AI‐assisted engineering is encouraged, and you will have significant influence over architecture, product direction and future hiring.
