Lead Web Developer

Lead Web Developer, London (Hybrid, 3 days per week in Shoreditch)

Avanti Recruitment is working with an award-winning digital and branding agency. They are seeking an experienced web developer with leadership experience to join their growing team. This is an opportunity to work on high-impact digital projects and lead a team of 3.

Tech stack: Vue.js, Nuxt, Headless CMS (Craft), PHP, Laravel, Node.js, Digital Ocean

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development of bespoke, responsive websites and digital experiences

• Build modern front-end interfaces with Vue.js, Nuxt and contemporary tooling

• Develop and integrate backend services and APIs within headless CMS architectures

• Work with CSS pre-processors to create scalable, maintainable styling systems

• Implement best practices in performance, accessibility, security, and SEO

• Deploy and manage applications and server environments (Laravel Forge, AWS)

• Lead and mentor other developers, contributing to a collaborative culture

Skills and Experience Required

• Professional experience in full-stack roles, leading other developers

• Advanced knowledge of Vue.js or React, Nuxt.js or similar, JavaScript, TypeScript and SCSS

• Strong backend development skills in Node.js or PHP

• Solid experience working with headless CMS platforms and API-first ecosystems

• Understanding of AWS services such as S3

• Excellent communication skills and confidence working with non-technical stakeholders

• Experience in a digital or creative agency environment (preferred)
