£55,000 – £65,000 + benefits
Avanti Recruitment is working with a well-established UK technology business in the communications space that is expanding its in-house software development capability. This is a new opportunity to join a stable, long-standing organisation that builds and maintains its own internal and customer-facing platforms.
The role sits within a small, experienced engineering team and focuses on the development and support of telephony-related software systems used in live production environments.
The Role
You will be involved in the design, development, maintenance and enhancement of Linux-based software platforms that support voice and communications services.
Responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining backend software using Python or another object-oriented language
- Working on systems related to VoIP / SIP-based services
- Debugging and supporting live production environments
- Collaborating closely with other developers and DevOps engineers
- Contributing to system design, performance improvements and long-term platform stability
What We’re Looking For
- Strong commercial experience in Python or another OO language (e.g. C++, Java, C#)
- An understanding of VoIP / SIP-based systems
- Experience working on Linux-based systems
- Comfortable debugging complex technical issues
- Experience with telecoms platforms, SIP environments, PBX systems, or real-time communications software
