SoC Functional Validation Engineer– Contract Position
We are seeking a highly skilled SoC Functional Validation Engineer to join our team in Bristol, UK. This role will be working on functional validation and brings-up of next-generation SoC platform featuring ARM processors with advanced interfaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out functional validation of next-generation SoC designs based on high-performance ARM processors.
- Lead functional bring-up of critical SoC interfaces, including LPDDR, Ethernet, PCIe, HBM, CPUs, low-speed peripherals (UART, I2C, I3C, SPI), and cache-coherent mesh interconnects.
- Create and debug bare-metal C test software using FPGA HAPS / Zebu emulation platforms, progressing through to silicon target hardware.
- Define, develop, and maintain validation test frameworks and infrastructure.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including SoC Architects, RTL Verification, Electrical Test & Characterization, and Production Firmware groups.
Essential Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Embedded C development.
- Strong experience with high-speed interfaces and protocols, including PCIe Gen6, die-to-die links, LPDDR5, and HBM3.
- In-depth hands-on experience with high-end ARM CPUs and ARM cache-coherent interconnect technologies.
- Demonstrated experience performing pre-silicon and post-silicon SoC validation.
Desirable Skills
- Python scripting for test automation and tooling.
- Direct experience with silicon bring-up of complex SoCs.
- Development and debugging of high-speed interface device drivers.
