TypeScript Engineer
Application Engineer, Cambridge (Hybrid), £60k to £100k DOE

This is an opportunity to join a growing application engineering team working on production-grade systems at the intersection of software engineering, data, and applied AI.
THE ROLE
As an Application Engineer, you will work within a cross-functional product team, building and scaling features that are used directly by customers.
- Develop full stack features across a large, complex platform
- Work with high-volume, data-heavy systems where performance and scalability matter
- Collaborate closely with product managers, QA, and AI-focused R&D teams
- Take ownership of features from design through to production and iteration
- Contribute ideas and improvements rather than working from rigid specifications
TECH ENVIRONMENT
- JavaScript and TypeScript
- Node.js
- Modern frontend frameworks (with an ongoing migration to React)
- PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Redis
- AWS, Docker, Kubernetes
WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR
- Strong academic background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline (1st or 2.1 from a good University)
- Typically 3–5 years of commercial software engineering experience, with flexibility for exceptional candidates
- Experience building production software, ideally in a full stack environment
- Strong problem-solving ability and logical thinking
