.NET Software Engineer
Location: Cambridge, UK (Hybrid – 3 days office, 2 days remote)
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 + bonus + benefits
Type: Permanent
MAKE AN IMPACT WITH TECHNOLOGY THAT MATTERS
If you’re a software engineer who wants to see your code come to life in real systems, not just on a screen, this is your opportunity to do work that genuinely makes a difference.
You’ll be part of a highly skilled team building the software and APIs that power advanced sensing and signal intelligence systems used in defence and security applications worldwide.
This isn’t just another coding job. It’s about creating high-performance software that communicates directly with cutting-edge hardware, solving real engineering problems, and pushing technology forward.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Designing and developing software applications and RESTful APIs in C# / .NET Core (currently .NET6, moving to .NET8)
- Working on Windows (WPF) and Linux-based systems
- Collaborating closely with embedded software and hardware teams to integrate applications with real-world devices
- Writing clean, reliable, and testable code that stands up in demanding environments
- Contributing ideas that shape how complex systems are built, tested, and deployed
Every engineer here plays a visible part in how products are delivered and improved. You won’t be boxed into narrow roles; your input will directly influence live systems used by major organisations worldwide.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
We’re looking for someone who’s:
- Experienced in C# / .NET Core (2–3 years minimum)
- Confident building APIs and working with data-driven applications
- Strong on software design patterns, architecture, and OOP principles
- Comfortable working across Windows and Linux
- Curious about how software connects with physical systems, hardware integration experience is great, but not essential
If you enjoy solving hard problems, collaborating across disciplines, and seeing your software drive real systems, this will be a great fit.
WHY JOIN
- Work at the intersection of software, hardware, and data; the systems you build get deployed in real-world scenarios.
- Be part of a growing, well-funded company with the backing of a global technology leader.
- Hybrid working pattern with flexibility and a collaborative, engineering-led culture.
- A workplace that values initiative, creativity, and technical ownership.
PACKAGE
- Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 (depending on experience)
- Bonus: 10% discretionary annual performance bonus
- Benefits:
- Private Medical Insurance
- 5% Pension Contribution (matched)
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays
- Electric Car Scheme
- Cycle-to-Work Scheme
THE ENVIRONMENT
You’ll join an engineering team of around 30 people working across software, embedded systems, RF, and hardware. The culture is open, technically focused, and collaborative, the kind of place where you’ll learn, contribute, and make a visible impact.
Hybrid working: Cambridge HQ, 3 days in the office (Mon/Tue/Thu) and 2 remote.
