Business Technical Analyst

To bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technology teams at Away Resorts, translating business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements. The role is responsible for analysing business processes, identifying improvement opportunities and supporting the delivery of technology projects and system changes that drive operational efficiency and enhance the guest experience across park locations and Central Support. The role requires a strong understanding of core business systems, including how they are configured, integrated, and used in practice across operations.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Engage with business stakeholders to elicit, document and validate requirements for technology projects and system changes.
  • Produce high-quality business analysis artefacts including process maps, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Analyse existing business processes and systems, identifying areas for improvement and presenting options for change.
  • Act as a bridge between the business and IT teams, ensuring mutual understanding of requirements and solutions throughout project delivery.
  • Support system configuration and map system dependencies.
  • Support Infra structure and cyber security requirements.
  • Support UAT activities including the creation of test scripts, coordination of testing and defect management.
  • Maintain traceability of requirements through design, build, and testing phases.
  • Contribute to business cases by providing detailed analysis of current state processes and proposed benefits.
  • Embed security-by-design and privacy-by-design principles into SaaS requirements and solution designs.
  • Analyse SaaS security models including authentication, role-based access, segregation of duties and audit logging.
  • Ensure alignment with internal security standards, and vendor security assurances.
  • Support security reviews and penetration testing activities in collaboration with Security, Legal, and DPO functions.
  • Mitigate risks relating to data access, data residency, third‐party processing, and user provisioning.
  • Dealing sensitively with all guest and team data ensuring full compliance to General Data Protection Regulations.
  • Mitigating the risk of holding any information on paper while advocating electronic data handling.

Skills, experience and qualities you’ll need:

  • Business Analysis Qualification (e.g., BCS Foundation or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2-3 years in a business analyst or technical analyst role
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with a structured approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working in Agile and Waterfall delivery environments.
  • Experience working with Digital, People, Booking, PMS or CRM systems.
  • Strong understanding of system configuration, business rules, and workflows.
  • Understanding of how systems are configured, integrated, and used in practice
  • Proven experience eliciting and documenting business requirements for technology projects for People, bookings and Digital systems.
  • Experience working across full project lifecycle from requirements to implementation
  • Familiarity with process mapping and modelling techniques (e.g., BPMN)
  • Strong requirements gathering and documentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Proficient in MS 365 tools , Azure Dev Ops or equivalent, Visio or equivalent for process mapping
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Methodical with strong attention to detail
  • Can-do attitude
  • Inquisitive and naturally curious about how things work
