The Role
In your role as a Senior Architect, you will be working alongside other Architects, delivery teams, and with key business stakeholders to provide consulting analysis and advice, and to develop the system architecture for complex solutions. For smaller change programmes you will additionally provide ongoing architectural leadership and coaching.
Your typical workload will be split between leading these client-side engagements, often large change programmes, discovery work, assessments and options appraisals that clients act on, through to being hands-on within a team. As such, whilst predominantly operating as a Solutions Architect, we expect you to be confident in fulfilling a varied role utilising a broad understanding across many disciplines. This includes working alongside practitioners in user-centric design, product and platform-centric agile delivery and AI enabled engineering, and we expect you to be comfortable operating in those environments.
Outside of client engagements, you will collaborate across our business on new offerings, representing the practice in cross functional teams, supporting new business development and commercial bids.
You will have the opportunity to develop your leadership through coaching and mentoring architects, technical designers and the delivery teams you work with. You will build consulting credibility with senior business and technology stakeholders, and lead by example when applying your experience to complex problems across varied environments and client cultures.
There is a requirement to be onsite in our central Leeds office 1 to 2 times a week. This can be discussed with your manager for full flexibility and can be restructured to best suit your needs, as well as some travel to client site (specific to client needs and requirements).
Essentials
· Deliver defined consulting outcomes, including current state assessments, options appraisals, target architectures and roadmaps a client can act on after the engagement ends
· Be responsible for system architecture(s) and, for smaller change programmes, ongoing architectural leadership
· Lead technology selection and creation of technology roadmaps at platform or system level
· Produce articulate models describing architectures & solutions which are accessible to a wide stakeholder audience
· Strive to breakdown complex challenges, setting out a simple route to value delivery, communicating this in a transparent and accessible way
· Ensure that client security, regulatory and compliance needs are met throughout
· Work with key business stakeholders to understand business priorities and requirements, leveraging your analytical and technical expertise to produce architectural designs that meet those needs
· Navigate technical, financial and operational factors, integrating this into thinking, proposals, risks, decisions and plans
· Make the case for change, setting out costs, benefits, trade-offs and risks clearly enough for clients to decide and commit
· Collaboratively influence evolution of the execution model, utilising your experience in digital, agile and product-centric environments to continuously improve ecosystems
· Coach and mentor architects and technical designers, working closely with delivery teams to realise your designs
· Review and assure architecture and design produced by client teams and third parties, giving independent findings and clear recommendations
· Agree and work to clear objectives, ensuring outcomes are delivered
· Adapt own approach to complex, challenging and low clarity environments
· Leave clients able to carry the work forward without us, transferring knowledge and building capability in their teams
· Influence best practice in own areas of expertise, demonstrating leadership to ensure optimal outcome delivery and continuous improvement
Within Axiologik we contribute to the growth of our business. You will also typically;
· Support the development of services for the Architecture practice
· Collaborate across our business on new offerings, representing the practice in cross functional teams
· Support new business development, inputting experience and expertise into commercial bids and early client conversations
· Contribute to IP that can be re-used with other clients
Representing Axiologik, the practice and yourself you will regularly
· Build strong relationships with suppliers, partners and colleagues across our business
· Participate in industry forums and events, expanding existing knowledge
· Seek to develop your technical skill set, pursuing certification and other development opportunities

We don't expect every candidate to bring all of the following. We'd encourage you to apply if much of this applies;
· Experience operating as a Senior Solution Architect, Senior Technical Architect, Senior Data Architect or Lead Architect, in a consulting or multi-client context
· Deep expertise in consulting architecture and technology lead roles, with delivered client outcomes you can talk us through
· Working knowledge of industry-standard software packages or SaaS offerings (CRM, ERP, IDAM) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
· Experience of agile, product and platform-centric delivery, including environments that work to improve flow (for example, practical application of Team Topologies)
· Experience as a data practitioner, at either a technical or strategic level
· Experience designing and delivering solutions across AI, ML and LLMs, with corresponding certifications
· Experience as an Enterprise Architect, defining and agreeing digital, data and technology strategies aligned to business priorities
· Exposure to regulated, safety-critical or critical national infrastructure environments
· Experience contributing to bids, pre-sales or client proposals
· Degree education and/or professional qualifications and accreditations relevant to your domain expertise
