Head of Information Technology

Head of IT | Wilmslow | On-site with flexibility (one day from home)

Reporting to: Board-level stakeholder

Salary: £75k - £85k +/-

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a pivotal, group-wide Head of IT role within a growing, multi-brand, multi-site business operating across the UK and internationally, 500+ users.

The foundations are in place: a capable team, modern cloud-based infrastructure, and strong peers in functional leads across development and change. What’s missing is a visible, inspiring leader who can bring it all together.

We’re looking for someone who will redefine how IT is perceived across the business — moving from a reactive, “keep the lights on” function to a proactive, commercially-minded partner that adds real, visible value.

This is not about reinventing the tech stack. It’s about leading people, setting standards, building belief, and creating a service culture that the business trusts and respects.

THE ROLE

Leadership & Culture

  • Lead, mentor and inspire a growing IT function (service desk, infrastructure, Salesforce, projects)
  • Create a high-performance, service-oriented culture with clear standards and accountability
  • Develop and coach emerging talent, building a strong leadership pipeline
  • Increase the visibility and credibility of IT across the organisation

Business Partnering

  • Act as a true partner to operational and commercial stakeholders across multiple brands
  • Engage directly with business leaders to understand needs and shape IT service delivery
  • Clearly articulate the value of IT, shifting perception from reactive support to proactive enablement

Service & Operations

  • Own and elevate the centralised service desk function, improving SLAs and user experience
  • Introduce structure, consistency and professionalism in how IT services are delivered
  • Ensure reliable, secure and scalable infrastructure across all sites (network, WiFi, telephony)

Vendors, Budget & Commerciality

  • Manage key vendor relationships and a circa £1m+ budget
  • Drive value from suppliers without compromising service quality
  • Bring commercial thinking to IT decisions, balancing cost, performance and scalability

Projects & Continuous Improvement

  • Oversee delivery of key group-wide initiatives (connectivity, telephony, systems)
  • Ensure IT plays a leading role in site launches and operational readiness
  • Support ongoing evolution of systems and processes without overengineering solutions

THE PERSON

This role is all about leadership and mindset.

  • A passionate people leader who genuinely cares about developing teams
  • Someone who brings energy, presence and credibility — able to engage at all levels
  • A track record of building, shaping or turning around IT functions
  • Commercially aware, able to manage budgets and suppliers effectively
  • Experience in multi-site environments (property, hospitality, retail or similar is helpful, not essential)
  • Comfortable operating in a hands-on, evolving environment with variety and pace

You will be someone who can set the tone, raise standards and make IT a function the business is proud of.
