Role
Role purpose
To provide practical support to a qualified electrician and carry out a range of ancillary works relating to electrical installations.
The role sits within the Property Services team and is responsible to the Electrical Supervisor.
Accountabilities
- Carry out safe isolation procedure in front of a qualified electrician/manager
- Work independently with on-site supervision on the installation that has just been made safe
- Demonstrate what work you have carried out on the installation to the qualified electrician/manager
- Assist in testing the work that has been carried out on the installation before connecting the supply ensuring it is safe
- Assist a qualified electrician to carry out reactive and planned electrical repairs and maintenance, including chasing walls for embedding electrical conduit and back boxes
- Complete specified works to a high standard of quality in terms of customer / client requirements
- Liaise and work with all other trades as required
- Liaise with a diverse range of customers and clients, in line with B3Living’s Customer Service Standards and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policy
- Ensure all tools are properly and appropriately operated, cleaned, stored and PAT tested
- Work to achieve performance and customer satisfaction targets for the service area
Training
The training will be a mix of practical learning and theory covering things like:
- Health and safety legislation
- Environmental legislation
- Practices and procedures for overseeing and organising the work environment
- Cable termination
- Inspection and testing
- Fault finding
- Electrical principles
- Functional Skills
- Candidates will be required to achieve the Level 3
- Electrotechnical qualification, (Installation) or (Maintenance).

- Electrical Working towards Electrical NVQ L3, grade L3 (Desired)
- Electrical Working towards 18th Edition qualification, grade 18th edition (Desired)
