Job Description:
You'll play a key role in shaping the future application landscape across the sector, supporting the design and evolution of enterprise-wide technology solutions. Working closely with Group IM&T, business owners and technical teams, you'll define application strategies, roadmaps and architecture standards that improve performance, security and efficiency across a highly detailed digital environment.
You'll contribute to application portfolio coordination, integration design and technology governance, supporting modernisation and reducing system obsolescence. Using architecture frameworks, application management tools and emerging technologies, you'll help guide solution delivery across the full development lifecycle. This role offers considerable opportunities to influence strategic technology strategies, support innovation and develop within a highly collaborative architecture function.
Core duties:
- Defining application architecture roadmaps, aligning systems with business goals, security standards and operational requirements
- Collaborating with business owners and technical teams to maintain integrated, scalable and consistent application solutions
- Overseeing application portfolio activities, supporting system rationalisation, data quality and technology lifecycle planning
- Evaluating emerging technologies, recommending tools and frameworks to improve application performance and efficiency
- Supporting governance and solution delivery, reviewing designs and ensuring compliance with architecture standards and best practices
Essential Skills:
- Experience delivering application architecture standards and governance within multi-faceted enterprise or technology environments
- Considerable stakeholder and people coordination skills, supporting collaboration across technical and business teams
- Ability to influence customers, suppliers, partners and peers to support consistent technology and architecture strategies
- Familiarity with IT governance frameworks, supporting compliance, risk management and effective decision -making processes
- Experience working within an IT function, with awareness of emerging technologies, trends and industry best practices
