Job Title: Architectural Technician

Salary: £45,000 + depending on experience and skills

What you’ll be doing:

  • Report to the RE&I Programmes Principal Architect, and operate under their direction
  • Interpret customer technical requirements and develop them into concept / developed design documents including detailed drawings
  • Support the Engineering team to produce drawings and specifications for projects
  • Carry out technical reviews of contractor’s design drawings and documents for accuracy and to ensure compliance with the requirements and specification
  • Manage own workload under minimal supervision to meet project deadlines
  • Assist in streamlining drawing processes to facilitate more efficient production information

    Your skills and experiences:

    Essential:

    • ARB Registered Architect, OR Registered Architectural Technologist with CIAT
    • Fully proficient in the use of Autodesk Revit, and AutoCAD experience is essential for this role
    • Experience within the construction industry
    • Good Experience in the use of Revit Architecture 2024, BIM Level 2-3, with a good level of general IT computer skills including MS Word, Excel etc

      Desirable:

      • Experience of Job Running and working within multi-disciplinary teams would be of benefit
      • Proven experience in the design and specification of buildings, structures, finishes and the ability to produce technical construction details

        The Architect team:

        Architect’s working within BAE Systems Shared Services - Specialist & Infrastructure Support are part of a high performing team delivering construction projects, ensuring correct Design and Engineering governance is applied throughout a projects lifecycle.

        The Real Estate & Infrastructure, team are seeking a talented registered Architect, Architectural Technician, or Architectural Technologist to join their multi-disciplinary Engineering team, working within the defence sector on projects, both in the UK and overseas.

        The role includes working with clients and stakeholders to turn requirements into concept and developed designs, the production of design documentation, liaising with our customers and design & build contractors, reviewing third party design and construction drawings and material specifications, and writing reports. The successful applicant will have great technical and drawing experience, along with good people skills. They should be prepared to work as part of a high performing team to deliver construction projects and to ensure that the company’s Engineering Governance system is applied throughout the project lifecycle.
