Job title: Engineer - Combat Systems Physical Integration

Location: Scotstoun/ Govan (On Site)

Salary: Up to 49,393 (depending on skills and experience)

What you’ll be doing:

  • To provide Combat Systems assurance for Magazines, Ammunition Routes, Designated Danger Areas and associated service requirements
  • Close liasion with the Systems Specialist Magazines and Ammunition routes, to ensure Magazine certification can be achieved, by ensuring magazine design and installation is compliant with latest regulations
  • Support SWSE team in development of magazine design, while in consultation with physical integration team (Stage 2), to help address issues such as Design Deviations & Design Rule Exceptions
  • Liase with integrated Build & Test team, to help define the sequencing and dependencies for building Magazines. This may include production of associated Manufacturing Instructions where necessary to ensure LfE and Best practice are captured
  • Provide an interface into Customer to facilitate the capture of data & comments from ongoing issues & concerns
  • Attendance at various working groups, co-ordinating with SWSE Engineers to provide integrated solution for magazines/ ammo’ routes and DDA’s,. ensuring actions are addressed in timely manner

    Your skills and experiences:

    Essential:

    • Knowledge of current Magazine Regulations
    • Knowledge of Platform systems & Magazine build requirements
    • Experience on the conduct of magazine trials and acceptance related activities with an understanding of ancillary elements such as equipment used and reasoning behind requirement
    • Understanding of the company engineering and commercial requirements

      Desirable:

      • Experience working within Shipbuilding or Naval Ships

        Engineers at all levels should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects as well as specific (either academic or professional) qualifications and become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through an appropriate recognised professional institution.

        Engineers are encouraged, and will be supported, to achieve the relevant accreditation.

        Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered

        The Naval Ships Combat Systems Magazine Team:

        As an Engineer - Combat Systems Physical Integration you will be supporting the System Specialist Magazines and Ammunition routes for the delivery of magazines, lockers, shipwide ammunition routes and associated equipment on the ships in both Govan & Scotstoun.
