Salary: £47,683

What you’ll be doing:

• Managing the availability and performance of our environment by performing day-to-day maintenance, monitoring for potential issues, and resolving service disruptions
• Protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our environment by ensuring the appropriate security measures are being followed and we adhere to corporate and regulatory standards
• Assisting our end users by managing user accounts, providing guidance and instructions, and finding solutions to their problems
• Producing and approving use cases, requirements, designs, acceptance tests, procedures, administration guides, and end-user documentation
• Helping to design and deliver a facility and capabilities which meet our customers’ current and future requirements
• Working with external suppliers and providers to design, implement, and manage third-party technology and services

  Your skills and experiences:

  Essential

  • Substantial experience installing, configuring, and supporting Linux based systems
  • At least moderate experience of Infrastructure as Code and using tools such as Ansible

    Desirable

    • A current Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) qualification
    • Moderate experience installing, configuring, and supporting Windows based systems
    • Moderate knowledge of relational databases and some experience configuring Oracle and supporting developers
    • Moderate knowledge of networking principles and some experience configuring and supporting network infrastructure
    • Moderate experience configuring and supporting a NetBackup server and clients (on Linux and Windows)
    • Moderate experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
