Job title: Mechanical Commissioning Engineer
Location: Portsmouth Naval Base - Onsite only
Salary: Up to £46,000 (dependent on skills and experience)
What you’ll be doing:

Completing commissioning and setting to work mechanical systems such as sea water cooling systems, fresh water systems, steering and stabilising systems
-
Defect diagnosis and rectification work on a variety of equipment and systems
-
Provide technical guidance and support to Royal Navy personnel on the operation of their equipment to ensure optimal performance

Working on the Royal Navy’s flagship project
-
Be a part of a team delivering designated trials and commissioning activities

Providing support globally to the Royal Navy
Your skills and experiences:
-
Knowledge of mechanical systems
-
Commissioning of mechanical systems within a marine environment
-
Ability to fault find and diagnose defects on mechanical systems
-
NVQ Level 3 & 4 to support inspection and maintenance engineering activities
-
HNC/ HND would be advantageous

The Marine Systems Services team:
The Marine Systems Services Team (MSST) carry out commissioning, setting to work and defect diagnosis of complex mechanical systems on-board Royal Navy vessels in Portsmouth Naval Base & Globally. Working as part of MSST as a commissioning engineer will provide a rewarding environment where your engineering output makes a huge difference. MSST is a small team of 10 engineers who have developed a great reputation with different project teams within BAE as well as industry partners such as the MoD and OEM’s. MSST provide multiple training and educational opportunities to hone in your mechanical engineering knowledge and achieve your full potential as an engineer
