Job Title: Principal Electromagnetics Engineer

Salary: 4£48,300+ Depending on skillset
What you'll be doing:
• Along with being a recognised technical specialist in the field of Microwave Electronics, the successful candidate will have relevant experience which underpins all aspects of the Microwave Materials business.
• You will play a key role into support the development of new technologies and opportunities to help grow the business in line with ambitious growth plans
• Form part of a team which maintains and builds upon the capability of Electromagnetic test & measurement facilities for the Microwave Materials business in line with strategic requirements
• Work with other ATS specialists to provide expertise and support to key programmes
• Build direct customer and stakeholder relationships to assist in ensuring effective project delivery and identifying new business opportunities in line with the ATS business strategy
• Have specific responsibility for development projects requiring design and manufacturing capability for LO and conformal antennas
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
• Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific / engineering discipline with demonstrated proven experience
• Possess a sound understanding of Microwave Electronics, electromagnetic theory and principles
• Electromagnetic simulation experience is desirable including antenna design
• Familiar with recognised industry standards and techniques for Microwave measurement including Radar Cross Section and free space parameters
• Possesses excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Desirable:
• Have already gained or working towards membership of a recognised technical body ideally with Chartered status

The Microwave Materials Team:
The Microwave Materials team is a key part of BAE Systems' Advanced Technology Solutions (ATS) organisation. We specialise in cutting-edge research and development of radar absorbent, radar transparent, and metamaterial technologies. Our work directly supports the design and manufacture of next-generation defence systems through our on-site advanced manufacturing facility. As part of a dynamic and highly skilled group, we focus on translating novel scientific concepts into real-world applications, supporting both current platforms and future capabilities.
